Salongo Titto Gitta Kigobe: 1st Ssalongo in MLN's family

Ssalongo Titto Gitta was born in 1918 to Katikiro Martin Luther Nsibirwa and a Muganda lady called Zerida. He was the second born child to the family after Mariam Nakimu.

Tito Gitta attended King’s College Budo for his primary education between 1929 to 1933 and continued into Secondary Education in 1934. Thereafter he went into Farming growing cotton and was one of the main suppliers to the textile factory in Namutamba, Mitayana.

Marriage and Children

He eventually met Abisangi Sentamu, and together they had the Twins (Babirye Joyce Nabasirye & Nakato Aidah Nalunga Magala) in 1941 which made him the 1st Ssalongo among the siblings. After the twins, the couple had Samwiri Kamya Kasirye.

Titto also had Kizza Damali Nvumirwa with Naume Kabaseke, and Ssalongo Fred Kaggwa with Miliam Namuddu.

Kizza is Ssalongo's only surviving child.

Family

Titto loved spending time with his siblings, so whenever he was free, he would travel to their family homes, Kosayi, Leiah Nagitta, Rhoda & Semu to mention but a few.

At time of his death on the 12th May 1983, he was a resident of Jjagala Kavule Gombe, Wakiso District

Twins

When his twins were born his father Martin Luther Nsibirwa was so excited. He would (twin) his children of similar ages encouraging them to support each other in their endeavours academic and otherwise. The twined pairs included.

• Rhoda & Sara
• Eseza and Gladys

We so wish Martin Luther Nsibirwa had lived to see his other twin grandchildren too.

His daughter Babirye Joyce Nabasirye (Nalongo) had twins Babirye and Nakato.

His son Fred Kaggwa Bugembe also became a Ssalongo like his father following the birth of Babirye Nabasirye and Nakato Nalunga who he named after their twin Aunts
